Thousands of people lost their lives and several have been seriously injured due to the series of violent earthquakes which occurred in Turkey and Syria recently.
We pray to Almighty Allah that all our brethren who lost their lives in this tragedy to be compensated with Paradise (Jannah), their families and loved ones to be blessed with solace and tranquility and those who were injured to be granted speedy recovery.
During such critical trials, Islam guides one to engage in good deeds such as prayers, fasting, Sadaqa (charity), Dhikr (remembrance of Allah), Isthighfar (seeking forgiveness), Sadaqa (charity) and to seek forgiveness for the victims and to perform Janaza prayers for them.
Accordingly, the ACJU requests all Masjid Imaams and Masjid Trustees to conduct Ghaib Janaza (absentee funeral) prayers after Jumu'ah prayers on Friday 10.02.2023, for our brethren who lost their lives.
Furthermore, the ACJU also requests the Masjid Imaams to recite 'Qunoot-an-Naazilah' (a special collective supplication at the time of extreme need) in the five obligatory prayers for a week, supplicating to eliminate the trials and tribulations around the world, especially in Turkey and Syria and to restore people's lives with normalcy.
While reciting 'Qunoot-an-Naazilah', the following Duas could be included, to the Qunoot which is usually recited in Fajr prayers.
